Scores

Scores + Materials

I conceptualize scores as creative and pedagogical devices that generate an encounter and launch an embodied, collective, artistic exploration with intellectual, and political reverberations.

On vibration, contamination, trespass, holding

Scores, texts, textures, propositions, provocations, constructed [with pause] as part of the 2021 iLAND retreat, “Moving with Pause”

“A Walk I Should Have”

“A Walk I Should Have”—July 2020

Inspired by prompt by Ellen Mueller.

This piece uses images from the work “Northern Triangle” by Bordenland Collective , and the piece “Repellent Fence” (2015) by Postcommodity. It also includes student protests in Bogota-Colombia in 2019, a March by the Guardia Indigena in Colombia, 2019, Black Lives Matter protests in Urbana-IL against the killing of George Floyd in 2020, a 2017 map of the homicides of social leaders in Colombia, and images from Central American migrants to the United States

Other scores for….

These are some scores that I have developed to study, play with, and test the possible textures, shapes, movement, and forms that emerge from what seems to be concrete and defined. Some of these apparently unmovable materials that I have been exploring are social difference, tension, time, physical space, paths, walking, and refusal as an action. I conceptualize scores as creative and pedagogical devices that generate an encounter and launch an embodied, collective, artistic exploration with intellectual, and political reverberations.

I offer these scores…… as material….. to be explored

“Walking From the Perspective of”…..

Go with a loved one for courage. Document a walk from the perspective of... Different body parts, first to get the hang of it. Then.... find other perspectives.
